About Us
Wait, who are you?
Brandon Cripps and Laura Nabors!!
So where did you two meet?
We met while Laura was an undergrad and Brandon was a graduate student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The first time we officially met face to face was at a Wilco concert in Huntsville.
How long have you been together?
After being friends for a little while, we finally realized that being bf+gf would be WAY more fun. We began dating in the spring of 2007.
When did you get engaged?
We got engaged on Christmas Eve 2009. Brandon hid the ring in a hollowed spot in a book and gave it to Laura when we exchanged Christmas gifts.
Where are you guys from?
Laura is from right here in North Alabama; Brandon lived the nomadic life of an Army brat until he went to college. He moved to Huntsville in 2005.
(continued above)
Do you two have any pets?
Yes! We have a cute shelter-rescued mutt named Maggie, and she's sweet as pie.
Do you have siblings?
Laura has an older brother, and Brandon has a younger sister. Both of them will be members of our wedding party!
Who else is in the wedding party?
On Laura's side will be her high-school and current friends Kimberly and Eric, as well as Brandon's sister Aimee and Laura's friend Amber. Behind Brandon will be his college roommate Ben, long-time pal Sharon, Laura's brother Stephen, and grad-school/whisker mate Nathan. In other words, our besties!
Are you ready for the wedding to get here?
YES!! Planning has been a lot of fun, and we're sure it will continue to be a good (if stressful) time. We can't wait for October to get here so we can have a hopefully-epic party and get this family going. The venue is amazing; the photos will be out of this world; the food will be totally delicious; and the music will keep us all dancing well into the night! We look forward to seeing you all there!!
About The Wedding
Where is the wedding?
The wedding will be held at the Historic Depot Roundhouse on the north side of downtown Huntsville, Alabama.
When is the wedding?
The ceremony starts at 5:00 in the afternoon on October 16th, 2010.
When and where is the reception?
We're making it easy on you and having the ceremony and reception in the same place! The reception will follow a cocktail hour on the grounds of the Depot Museum. Good food and drink throughout!
Do men need to wear tuxedos?
Nope! This is not a black-tie event, so tuxedos are not required. We won't discourage you if you want to really class it up, though!
What's the best place to eat/drink in Huntsville?
We've put together a big map with all our local favorites and the locations of all the wedding spots; you can see the map below.
Where are you two registered?
We're registered on Amazon.com, at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, and at Pottery Barn. Links to both registries are posted below.
Where you can find our wedding registries
Amazon.com
Our first registry is held at amazon.com. Here you'll find the majority of the items we've registered for, including the big ticket items (new-school/old-school lawn mower, woo!). It has a universal registry function, so you'll find items from all across the web listed here. [click the logo to link you to the list].
Bed, Bath & Beyond
Our second registry is at Bed, Bath & Beyond. This should make it easier for folks in medium- to big-size towns to find stuff locally and not worry about getting on the internet or shipping gifts. Lots of our small goods are in this registry. [click the logo to link you to the list].
Pottery Barn
Our final registry is at Pottery Barn. Here you'll find a lot of tableware and decorative pieces. There are some things that you can only find online, and others that you can only pick up in the stores. Something for everyone! [click the logo to link you to the list].
Map to all things wedding related in North Alabama
Google supermap
We've built a big map containing all of the wedding locations (the Roundhouse, hotels, houses, etc.) and lots of our favorite local restaurants, bars, parks, and activities. We've also included driving directions from the airport to the hotels and from the hotels to the wedding venue. You can scroll around the map here on this page, or click the link below it to take you to the bigger, more easily managed version with a written list of all the points of interest. I hope you find it helpful!
