Who took these amazing photos?!
These engagement photos were taken by Christine Berry and Vania Morris of Simply Bloom Photography. They're Huntsville-based photographers who are making a huge name for themselves in the wedding photo world via numerous magazine and blog features. They're also alums of Laura's and my alma mater, The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Christine and Vania will also be shooting us on the day of the wedding and in another formal session sometime following the nuptials. We're really excited to get to work with them, since (as evidenced here) they're fantastic photographers who share our aesthetic feelings towards natural light and vintage style. We're indebted to them for making a couple of nerds look pretty darn hott! And they're just really nice people!!
Where were these photos taken?
One good thing about working with such talented photographers is that they know all the great secret spots to take pictures! These were taken in a peach orchard and the field next to the orchard between Madison and Athens, North Alabama. We lucked out with the time of year and found ourselves out there while all the little yellow flowers were blooming! Despite a few minor injuries (ADVICE: wear closed-toe shoes when walking through a field!), we had a great time playing in the grass and getting shot by the Simply Bloom ladies.
We're planning to use local wildflowers for decoration at the wedding, so there should be a great cohesive feeling between these pictures and photos shot that day. Fingers crossed that we'll get the same great natural light in mid-October, shining in through the giant Roundhouse doors.
